The spicy string bean with pork is sooo amazing. It's not the awful questionable pork that some places have. The string beans are fresh, crunchy, and not overcooked. Beware, though: the dish is described as mildly spicy but I would say medium.
I am thankful that this place is too far from work because my wallet would be so much lighter.

If you try nothing else, do try the steamed vegetable peanut dumplings -- unless you have a peanut allergy. A unique and awesome dish that I have not seen on any other restaurant menu.

Very delicious for its price. If you like very very spicy, they will meet your expectation.

This is one of my favorite all time Thai places

Consistently great food and friendly service! I love their pad thai and duck panang. I took off a star because the meat (I usually get pork) can be on the dry side. Delivery times can be hit or miss, but the food is always worth it!

Took forever. The salad was watery and the peanut sauce was gross. Ordered vegetable dumplings and got some other really gross dumpling.

I've been ordering from here for ages. Used to be consistently high quality food. The last few orders have been seriously disappointing. So sad.
Posted 2 years ago by Lori E.
Ordered from here twice, first time i had pad thai with was really without any flavour, ordered with extra chicken meat and I couldn't really see the difference for ordering without extra. Gave the restaurant a chance again and I had fried rice chicken with was really silly with no taste again. Even the delivery boy just left my food outside my door, ringed the bell and ran away. Will not order from here again.

I like the flavor of the dishes (thus the 4 star rating) but the lunch special is not a good value. Don't bother with the lunch specials. I ordered spicy string beans with beef lunch special and received a container 70% full of rice, 28% green beans and 2% tough beef slices.
Posted 2 years ago by Sindy E.
Excellent lunch, good value, nice servers--includes spring rolls and salad. But if you go for dinner, it is another level: excellent broiled sea bass, love the crispy basil pork and the ice cream banana dessert is amazing.
Posted 2 years ago by Daniel H.
1) Mango salad I ordered was placed on top of the hot noodles I ordered, which made the salad warm (disgusting, as this salad should be served cold).
2) Noodles were quite tasty, quite sure there's MSG (though I'm not 100% sure) and the red bell peppers that came in the noodles had gone bad (black rotting through the bell pepper that was not thrown away, pretty obvious)
Not eating this again

WE LOVE THIS PLACE...Seriously we come here way too often. They definitely do not make it easy for me to stick to my "let's cook more" plan. But it is TOTALLY WORTH IT. Everything is great but some of our favorites are: crispy pork with chinese broccoli, bamboo chicken, key mao noodle with beef, papaya salad, the kanom jeeb and shrimp pad gra pow.
Posted 2 years ago by Karla L.
takes a while to receive the food but they still have the best thai ever so I usually place an order for delivery right when they open the door so by the time i get hungry, usually around 12, i can have my food ready for me.

The never adhere to the special requests- I always ask to omit baby corn and carrots..and they NEVER listen. Major Bummer.

I like this restaurant. But dont order phat thai delivery... The noodle gets dry and tasteless

Hands down, best authentic Thai in hood. I have been a regular for more than 7 years.
Normally the order arrives within 30 min.
Posted 3 years ago by irene v.
Food came quickly but that's probably because they did not really cook the curry long enough.... was like water.

Fantastic Thai food right in Hells Kitchen. Although there are many good Thai restaurants in the neighborhood, Wonder Siam 1 and 2 are fantastic always...

we waited more than an hour for our food to be delivered today. one tom yum soup and a red curry. i called twice to ask about it. was told the first time, the food is already out for delivery. second time, i called, she told me the same thing. by that time, an hour has already passed. she apologized and simply said there is nothing she can do about it. really??? but to be fair, the food is yummy-licious!

Very fast and friendly delivery. Spring rolls are fried - which was a surprise disappoint to me. Had the green curry ... Very spicy. Nice size portion, enough for two meals at least. I would order from here again.

This is my favorite Thai place in the city, and I order from them about once a week. HOWEVER, they just changed their policy (1/29/2013) so that rice does not come with their full priced dinner entrees. Instead, you have to now opt in to receive a $2 side portion of white rice. I had just received a large order and called to let them know that they forgot the rice, and I was told that this was their new policy since the beginning of the new year (which is not true, as I had placed orders after the new year without issue). Basically, this means that they raised the price of every single entree by $2.00. Be alert and budget accordingly.
Since my original review, they rescinded the extra charge policy. I appreciate that the proprietors are sensitive to customer complaints, and the quality of the food has remained excellent, so I am revising my rating upward.

Crispy Duck Salad deserved 5 stars. i was at Wandee 15 years ago and yes, every bite so flavorful, excellent choices!!! Real Thai Cuisine made in NY!!!

Got extra noodles with my Pad See Ew, but all they didn't add any extra sauce. It just ended up being all noodles with no flavor.
Posted 3 years ago by Danny C.
Despite all the bad ratings... I have been wording from Wondee Siam for YEARS. I had no idea they changed ownership. I love the pad thai with tofu - the lunch portion is huge (probably save some for dinner)... the food is always delivered piping hot and within a short amount of time. Maybe I've just been lucky? Not sure... but I order from here pretty regularly...Def the best affordable Thai food in the area.

Used to be my go to place for picking up thai food since I live around the corner, but now they charge extra for rice...seriously? Will not order from again until they change this ridiculous policy.

Sloe delivery, awful food, missing condiments requested
Posted 3 years ago by Akash S.
Usually very reliable and delicious food, but today the food was not delivered after 1h, and the person on the phone was not realizing that that was not acceptable.
Posted 3 years ago by Michael N.
WARNING: this place changed owners at the beginning of 2013 and the new policies are ridiculous. You do NOT get rice with any entree, including curries. The delivery also took 70 min, even though it said max of of 45.
Posted 3 years ago by William G.
They delivered my vegetable curry dish with no rice. When I called, they said you have to order rice separately. Who doesn't serve rice with their curry dishes? Also, I had paid for extra vegetables, but instead they put in tofu and pineapple.
Posted 3 years ago by Amy T.
Our food showed up cold and late. Will not order from here again!
Posted 3 years ago by shane R.
They now charge for rice and the food is downhil. With so many thai places in hells kitchen why order from here?
Posted 3 years ago by Bob F.
Bleh. Appetizers are terrible... TERRIBLE. Food was flavorless. Paid for extra chicken and beef in both our dishes, and both had very little meat. No rice with the meal (seriously?), even when requested.
Posted 3 years ago by Kenneth F.
Careful. They no longer give rice when you order a curry dish. Called when I realized there was no rice and they told me they changed their model. Offered to pay for it and they still refused to come back and deliver the rice. Horrible service.

a nightmare! waited for two hours for delivery which never came! told by wondee manager, Danny, that they were too busy to do seamless orders and that I had to call seamless to cancel order. 35 minutes on hold with seamless to cancel order that wondee refused to fulfill. what a joke!
Posted 3 years ago by Joseph M.
Food came quickly. The brown rice is more like purple or multigrain rice, but was very overcooked. Stick with white rice.
Posted 3 years ago by Lauren F.
I order from Wondee Siam II at least once a week for break at work. Typically, I'll submit it about 45 minutes before I'm going to go, but it will often come early! The food is amazing and they follow my special instructions perfectly. They make the best Kee Mao noodles I've had in a while. Definitely order from here if you're craving good Thai.
Posted 3 years ago by Carly C.
Delivery estimate is ridiculous. They say 25-40 minutes, but it was more like 1.5 hours.
Posted 3 years ago by michelle a.
Delivery takes much longer than displayed. Add on 30-60 minutes to advertised time.

One of the best and most authentic Thai restaurant that I have been to in NYC and I'm a Thai! The papaya salad and the basil crispy pork is great.

some of the best Thai food around. usually fast delivery, good size portions. the pad thai, lemongrass chicken, and pad see ew are all very good.
Posted 4 years ago by Matt M.
haven't gotten food yet, but the previous reviewers were right, delivery estimate is completely off. it says 25-40min, but it's been over 1 hr and 10 minutes and still no food. it's not as if we ordered at 12pm, we ordered at 11am! do NOT order if you want your food within 1.5 hours

Posted 4 years ago by Kari G.
I cannot believe I spent $20.00 on this food! I ordered the avocado salad, spring beans with pork/ and a thai iced tea. This is one place someone recommended to me and I am sadly disappointed. The avocado salad was $4.50 and it just had a plain 1/2 of an avocado sliced on a iceburg lettece. The dressing was watery and lacked flavor. The main lunch entree had minimal slices of pork and was not the right ratio for the mountain of rice I was given. Sadly, the Thai iced tea tasted like the powdery crap you get from the Asian stores. Don't waste your money!

-Delivery is taking over an hour and I'm still waiting.....
-Called the restaurant twice...both time they said they'll call their delivery guy to see what's taking so long then call me back and they never did......
Conclusion = unless if you want to wait for over an hour to get soggy noodles...then DON'T ORDER FROM HERE!

This is the third time I have ordered the green curry. It is unbelievaby salty, inedible all three times. Will never order this again.

Best shrimp Pad Thai out of the 8 or so places I've gotten delivery from in Midtown. Worth the wait.
Posted 4 years ago by Kate T.
Waited nearly 2 hours for food. Called restaurant twice, both times not helpful. Called to cancel, but they refused so I had to call Seamless directly to cancel.
Posted 4 years ago by Bo N.
Bland, barely any cashews in my Pineapple Fried Rice. Very little sauce of any kind. Delivery man did not read instructions for getting into my building so had to meet him on street.
Posted 4 years ago by Kristen S.
The food when dining in is much better. Have ordered from here a few times, and last night was the final straw ,the green curry had tasted and smelt like it was prepared with rotten vegetables. The pad thai, usually good, had an aftertaste of microwaved plastic. I recommend eating in. Much better Thai take out options on seamless to choose from..
Posted 4 years ago by Amit K.
I waited more than an hour and a half for my order. I called an hour later and they said, it's on it's way. When I called an hour and a half later, the service was rude, they stated they were busy and I should just wait and hung up. The Pad Thai was very mediocre and spring rolls were bad, something I would not order again. I would recommend you try any other Thai place but this for delivery.
Posted 4 years ago by Sreeram M.
The regular thai basil is amazing but the crispy pork version isn't so great. Its basically fat and i couldn't chew most of the pieces because it was so hard. Delivery is reasonable not quick. Spring rolls are great!
Posted 5 years ago by Linda K.
Got the green curry. Was pretty bad. I probably won't order from here again, given how many thai places there are within 5 blocks from WSII.
Posted 5 years ago by Graig D.
Waited over an hour and a half for my delivery. When I called to ask whether the deliveryman had left the guy had serious attitude- he told me that I'm not the only one in New York who orders food and that I should just wait. Also said that Seamless basically doesn't work at their restaurant and that if you want your food faster you should call them directly. So in short, don't order with them online if you want to eat within two hours.
Posted 5 years ago by C. C.
Not in love. Soup was really salty and the pineapple fried rice was too bland.
Posted 5 years ago by Antonio E.
I made the mistake of ordering from here again. The food is good but delivery is very slow. It has been about 1 hour and 20 minutes since i ordered food and it has not arrived yet. I only live 7 blocks from the place. They have done this consistently for the last three orders I have placed. Never again!!
Posted 5 years ago by Alan K.
takes forever... and they are rude if you call and ask where the food is.... dont waste your time eat a frozen dinner instead
Posted 5 years ago by Matthew H.
I placed my dinner order around 9PM and received the order aftter 10PM when estiamted delivery time was 25 - 40 minutes. The food was below par. I will not order from them again.

This is my go-to Thai place in midtown West. The wondee sampler is the best, and the rest of their food is great too.
Posted 5 years ago by tiffany p.
the beef satay was tender and juicy. light peanut sauce is a great addition. also recommended: massoman curry with chicken! yum!
Posted 5 years ago by Sara Z.
I consider bad service to be also be when the restaurant does not mark itself as closed. I ordered because it appeared as open an waited for over an hour for my food hungry, called the restaurant, nobody picked up and then called seamless and I was informed that they had not stated they were closed. So we the customers ordered, paid, and waited for more than an hour and a half for food. thanks a lot. bad service.

Posted 5 years ago by Joel G.
the food was very late and very cold when arrived. my thai basil plate was half empty, so definitely not worth >$10. nothing tasted good. we wished we ordered from somewhere else considering there are so many great thai delivery places in manhattan.
Posted 5 years ago by Ceyda M.
Sadly, a disappointing experience. It took two hours for the food to come. We had to call multiple times, each time we were given a different story. Once they put us on hold and never picked up again, and once they hung up on us. It turns out they had not even started our order, then they got the order wrong (spicy shrimp salad instead of chicken pad thai...not even close). They refused to give us a refund or discount and simply told us to keep waiting. When the food finally came the pad thai was ok but the spring rolls were soggy.
Posted 5 years ago by Wes S.
I've been happy with eating in at this restaurant but delivery was terrible. Pork was like eating shoe leather. Pad Thai was pretty plain. Definitely going elsewhere next time.
Posted 5 years ago by Tamiko H.
Best on seamless.
Posted 5 years ago by Jesse H.
Order took over an hour and a half. The lunch portions had 2/3 rice and 1/3 meat/vegetables. The food was tasty, but given the length of delivery time and the lack of protein, this felt like a very poor choice.
Posted 5 years ago by Anna H.
The order took about 50 minutes...
Posted 5 years ago by Jason S.
This restaurant sent us was the worst prepared, most pedestrian Thai food I have ever eaten. The fried rice was tasteless, the red snapper so old it could have qualified for medicare. I cannot imagine a more disappointing experience and I would urge anyone
who cares about quality food and fresh ingredients to STAY AWAY!!!
Posted 5 years ago by Steven Y.
The delivery was super quick, thats probably because they forgot some of the ordered food as well as forgot to add the rest of the portions of my order. My thai basil order was eaten in 2 spoonfuls. Spoke to the manager and all that could be said was that that is there normal portions. What, my 5 yr old nephew would be starving after he ate this portion. What a RIP OFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered from here and did not receive my delivery for over 2.5 hours. Repeated calls to the restaurant left them informing me that the delivery was on its way, only for the restaurant to realize on my 4th call that they forgot to fill the order because it was from seamless web. When I finally received my order, the pad thai was rubbery and mediocre at best.

This place is consistently solid. Their Wondee Fried Rice is a solid choice for anyone that likes Fried Rice, especially with beef and chicken. The other thing that is delicious that they make is the Tom Yum Soup, one of the best I've had.

wondee siam is a great thai restaurant that is well received by many people and always a solid buy. pad thai is pretty standard and tasty -- if youve never tried thai iced tea before you absolutely must try it

Really solid, go-to Thai place. Not making any culinary waves, but always hits the spot. They're really good with particular requests (ie: no peanuts, etc). Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are great!
Posted 5 years ago by Melissa B.
Great thai dishes, including wonderful soups.
I recommend the salads too. The staff is sometimes a bit rude if you pick up the order.
Posted 5 years ago by Celina K.
Wondee Siam II has some of the best Thai food in New York. They offer a wide variety of variations on the typical dishes, have quick delivery, and are flexible if you need to substitute something in a dish.
I recently ate in the restaurant and found it to be constantly packed with people all evening, which I took to be a good sign.

A great Thai on a crowded strip of 9th that has many Thai choices. Fast delivery and good red or green curry - and the curry puffs appetizer is to die for!! Try out some of the traditional entrees too, some totally hidden gems.

Our go to thai spot. I wish you could order from the secret menu online though. Faves: Rad Na, Pad thai, red curry, papaya salad
Posted 5 years ago by Meriann S.
Best Thai in the area!
Posted 5 years ago by kiai k.
Pad Thai - Rqst'd med spicy and it was perfect amount of heat and flavor!
Pad Si Ew - Didn't really care for it b/c there wasn't enough flavor in the sauce but we did eat it.
Would order both again just want to see if Pad Si Ew can be done better.
Appz - Ordered 4 spring rolls - Had hot (upon delivery at lunch), cool (later that night) and reheated (in nuker at home) and they were DELISH at all temps! Usually a reheated by nuking fried roll is nasty and not recommended however theirs tasted fresh and just simply delish. Even the dipping sauce was fab!
Delivery - On time, no complaints!

Big fan, delivery is crazy quick (I live about 3 avenues and 5 blocks away - food came piping hot in about 20 minutes from the time I hit submit).
Big fan of their Tom yum soup, green curry & pad see ew noodles.
Always consistently good, love this spot for eat-in or delivery.

Do NOT order from this place. It took more than an hour for them to deliver a simple order of red curry. The clerk was incompetent and rude as well.

When the food arrived, I was disappointed to find the pad thai was simply noodles and sauce. No green onions and sprouts for extra flavor and crunch like usual. Greasy and relatively tasteless.

HONESTLY, I HATE TO DO THIS...BUT I HAVE TO WARN YOU. I ORDERED FOR THE SECOND TIME AND MY PAD SEE-EW HAD A LONG, LONG, PIECE OF BLACK HAIR ENTANGLED INSIDE THE NOODLES. DISGUSTING. I AM WAITING FOR MY REFUND AND FOR THEM TO COME BACK AND PICK IT UP. WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN.

I've eaten at Wondee Siam before and enjoyed it, so I am very sorry to say that the masaman curry I just ordered for delivery came with an INSECT swimming in it. I don't know what kind of bug, but it is like a small beetle with wings.
Wondee is sending someone over to pick up the buggy curry and bring me a new one. I'm still hungry, but I've kind of lost my appetite at the same time.

Horrible! Greasy, not fresh and everything tasted terrible. We ordered the Kae Mao Noodles, Woon Sen soup and appetizer sampler. It's hard to say which tasted the worst. And we aren't picky eaters! Absolutely NO WAY we would order here again.

I was sick today and ordered Thai specifically from this place because they had diet sprite and I needed to get hydrated without drinking caffeine. Instead of sending me the three Diet Sprite's I ordered, they send me three Diet Coke's. When I called to say they made an error the woman simply said, we don't have diet sprite. I was nice and said well that's specifically what was on your site and was ordered but she just kept saying we don't have diet sprite. Not only that but the curry is mediocre. Never ordering from here again.
Posted 7 years ago by Christopher R.
Delivery was late, delivery man was rude. If you don't want to deliver a single meal, then don't list yourself with a ten dollar delivery minimum, and certainly don't make a stink to the customer about it. With a cuisine that is so readily available, such as Thai, it doesn't benefit a restaurant to have an attitude. Will be trying Thai elsewhere next time.
Posted 7 years ago by Meredith T.
I ordered a large soup and a small soup. They did not fill up the container for the large soup. I called and they said this is how the kitchen does it.

Be very careful with this restaurant. There food isn't the best but its pretty good and so I have ordered from them for years. As of today, I won't ever order again. I have always asked them to substitute certain vegetables and it has NEVER been a problem until today. I don't mind a change in policy. I don't mind an extra dollar. I do mind spending 16 min on a phone call to be told they have never had me change the vegetables in the past at no extra cost and then I prove it to them with Seamless's great order history. I do mind not being able to talk to a manager because they are not there and yet whenever I make a point the person on the phone goes and talks to someone else to find out what to do. Sounds like a manager to me. I do mind that when I gave up and said I wanted to cancel the order I was told I had to call Seamless web to do so. This is completely false as it clearly says in Seamless's FAQ that you should call the restaurant. I called the restaurant back and told them about this and they still said I was wrong and to call Seamless. I did call Seamless and they were great and fixed my problem. I have ordered using Seamless for many years. I have placed enough orders that I suspect I am a top Seamless customer at least as one person can manage. I have never ever complained about anything that it would cause me to write like this. Order from this company if you want but my point is doesn't anyone else think that customer service is ceasing to exist? No one knows basic common sense anymore and only wants to pass blame rather than make good business decisions. So, just be warned that the food may be fine when everything is OK. But what happens when it isn't? What happens when your order has a mistake? Are you going to go through what I went through as a loyal customer for the past 4 years?

The items I ordered are NOT GOOD, especially for the price. I ordered the mango salad, too much chilly, so you don't taste the mango, just chilly and lime. It's not etable! They did not follow simple directions, i.e. lime vinaigrette on the side. The curry puffs, "YUCK," I have had better. I will NEVER oder from them again. Such a waste of $20.00, to whom do you complain, when things like this happen?

The raspberry duck is fantastic.

Despite the price increase from approx 6 mos ago, it is unbelievable that this restaurant delivers a portion that doesn't even fill half of the container. Pad Thai orders on both 1/9/08 and 1/13/08 looked like child portions. I will have to find another Thai that offers an entire dish, and therefore better value.

Curries are fine but noodles are awful and spring rolls are sub-par. Order things with chicken, the beef is a mistake.

I love this place and have never been disappointed with an order. The food is delicious, really quick delivery time too. You can't beat the curry puffs with a ten foot pole!
